Essentially, GLOC is termed as light weight concrete blocks, or sometimes also referred to as aerated foam concrete. Foam concrete is a lightweight building material combining good mechanical strength with low thermal conductivity and ease of working.
Lightweight concrete is now widely used as a new technology material worldwide for its lightweight, insulating, high heart resistance, sound proof and fast build properties. The development of equipment which enables this to be done economically in small or large quantities is relatively recent. Our company has been in the forefront of this technology development in terms of chemicals, machinery and application know how. GLOCs are manufactured with cement, fine sand, water and special foam. It is a strong, lightweight concrete containing millions of independently distributed and consistently sized air bubbles or cells. The density of foam concrete is determined by the amount of foaming agent added to the basic cement mortar. Typically there are up to 2 million air bubbles per cubic cm of light weight concrete.
